What is the best music book for beginning piano?

I’ve wanted to learn piano for years, and I have a synthesizer at home, but I’ve never taken lessons. I’m looking for a good book to self-teach from for the most part, though I have a few friends that play and they could help me if I come across something I don’t understand. Does anybody know of a really good book that they might have learned from? If so please tell me. Thanks. (-=

Faber and Faber since it starts off easy by teaching you important techniques on how to play the piano and the pieces gradually become harder
